Yvonne Billimore has been selected as Frame’s new Associate Programme Curator

Curator Yvonne Billimore has been selected as the new Associate Programme Curator for Frame Contemporary Art Finland.

She plans and manages Frame’s new public programme Rehearsing Hospitalities during 2019 in collaboration with Frame’s Head of Programme Jussi Koitela.

Yvonne Billimore is an artist-curator, who recently relocated to Finland from Scotland to participate in the Aalto University Masters programme Visual Cultures, Curation and Contemporary Art.

From 2015-18 she worked as the Programme Manager at Scottish Sculpture Workshop, an arts organisation based in rural Aberdeenshire. Here she developed the residency and public programmes, as well as delivering a range of projects, from local community regeneration projects to international collaborations such as Mesa Baldio in Rio de Janeiro and EU partnership project Frontiers in Retreat.

Yvonne has worked in artist-run spaces, led engagement projects and participated in several curatorial development networks in the UK. She is interested in forms of curation that are invested in the development of practices addressing social and environmental justice. Her current research explores feminist curatorial and pedagogical approaches that emphasise the inclusion of multiple voices and perspectives (including the more-than-human).
