Frame invites grant applications for visual arts projects in 2016

Frame Visual Art Finland distributes grants to promote Finnish contemporary art internationally. Applications for the next round of grants will open on Monday, 9 November. Grants are awarded in the following fields of contemporary art: visual art, photography, media art, applied art, comics art, performance art and sound art.

 

Grants are awarded to artists who are either Finnish or based in Finland as well as to Finnish or international curators, producers and organisations. Applications are invited for exhibitions held abroad, participation in art fairs, foreign-language publications and expert visits, and for covering travel, accommodation or transportation expenses.

Applications apply only to projects planned for 2016. Grants may not be applied for retroactively. The application deadline is 30 November 2015 at 11:59 pm Finnish time (GMT +2).

Grant applications are to be submitted online via Frame’s grant service.

Open info session and grant clinic

All applicants are invited to attend an open information session to be held at Frame’s office (Ratakatu 1 b A 9, 6th floor, Helsinki) on Wednesday, 11 November at 3–4 pm. Advance registration is not required. The language of the session is Finnish.

After the event, applicants can request personal guidance filling in grant applications at Frame’s grant clinic, open 4–6 pm. Please book a 20-minute appointment by contacting Karoliina Korpilahti at karoliina.korpilahti@frame-finland.fi. Personal guidance is available in Finnish and English.

The grant clinic will additionally offer a hotline service on Tuesday 17 November at 2–4 pm. Applicants are requested to reserve a 20-minute phone appointment by contacting Karoliina Korpilahti by email.

Frame will notify all applicants of its decision individually and successful projects will be posted on its website at the end of January. Frame’s grant system is based on annual state subsidies received from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Frame is an information centre for contemporary art. It supports Finnish visual art by promoting international collaboration and increasing exchange between Finnish and international visual art professionals and organisations.
