Changes to Frame grants: No application round this November

Frame grants will be renewed in 2026. The aim is to streamline the grant application process and its administration for both applicants and Frame. The changes are also influenced by the significant funding cuts to the grants awarded by Frame.

The next Frame grant application round will open in March 2026, when grants can be applied for international projects of Finnish contemporary art for the period 2026–2027. As a result, Frame will not organize its November project and travel grant application rounds in the fall of 2025.

The changes will affect the types of grants and application schedules. At the same time, the grant application rounds will shift to a new administrative rhythm, which will accelerate the assessment process. As a result, decisions can be made within approximately one month of the application deadline.

We will share details of the 2026 grant rounds in December, when we will also organise an info session about it.

The changes are also influenced by the significant cuts in the amount of grants awarded by Frame in 2025. In 2023, Frame distributed €270,000 in grants, while in 2025, the amount is only €167,000. The decision on the amount of grants for next year will be made by the Ministry of Education and Culture in early 2026.

We will collect feedback on the grants during 2026.
