Frame is an advocate for Finnish contemporary art. On this page you will find presentations by Frame’s Board of Directors and The Council.

Board of Directors

Frame’s work is guided by a Board of Directors, whose members are all experts in the fields of art and culture. The members of the Board of Directors for 2024–2027 are:

Hanna Johansson

Hanna Johansson is Professor of Research of contemporary art at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Helsinki. She has extensive knowledge of contemporary art and has researched, for example, the relationship of Finnish contemporary art to ecology. Johansson is an Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Helsinki, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Uusimaa Fund of the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Tellervo Kalleinen

Tellervo Kalleinen is a contemporary artist who bases her practice on creative collaboration. Kalleinen graduated from Helsinki’s Academy of Fine Arts in 2003 and also studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Germany. Kalleinen has collaborated with Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen since 2002. The duo were awarded the AVEK media art award in 2012 and the Ars Fennica prize in 2014. They have held numerous exhibitions around the world.

Outi Kuittinen

Outi Kuittinen is the CEO of RELEX Foundation for a Better Future. The foundation focuses in particular on biodiversity conservation, combating climate change and preventing inequality. Prior to RELEX Foundation, Kuittinen worked at the think tank Demos Helsinki. She has worked extensively with organisations from different sectors in Finland and internationally in strategy work, innovation and organisational development. Kuittinen has served on the boards of Demos ry, Dodo ry and Ekosäätiö.

Oskari Nokso-Koivisto

Chair of the Board Oskari Nokso-Koivisto is Executive Director at the Aalto Economic Institute, an organisation overseeing the linkage of research and decision making in the Aalto University Department of Economics. The aim of the Institute’s projects has been to integrate economic knowledge into decision making. Nokso-Koivisto is the co-founder of the Helsinki Graduate School of Economics, a joint economic unit of Aalto University, University of Helsinki and Hanken School of Economics, and he currently works as the secretary of its board.

James Prevett

James Prevett is a British artist and teacher based in Helsinki since 2013. He is a lecturer in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki. His artistic practice intersects studio-based making and social practice, both of which revolve around sculpture and its social relations. Prevett has had numerous exhibitions around the world and his work is in the collections of Kiasma and the Finnish National Gallery. In 2021, he was awarded the first Linnamo Prize for Visual Arts.

Anna Talasniemi

Anna Talasniemi is a professional in the fields of arts, culture and foundations. For almost 10 years, she was the director of the Kone Foundation supporting arts and academic research. Currently, Talasniemi is working on her PhD in art education at the University of Jyväskylä. Talasniemi has extensive experience in administrative processes, strategy building and management. She is Vice-Chair of the Boards of Baltic Circle ry and Wauhaus ry. Talasniemi is also a member of the Nordic Norm Critical Leadership Network, which promotes equality in the arts and culture field.

Anni Venäläinen

Anni Venäläinen is the Director of Pori Art Museum. She is a member of the City of Pori Education and Culture Division executive team and a member of the Maire Gullichsen Art Foundation’s Board of Directors. In addition to her involvement in the museum field, Venäläinen has also worked as a visiting lecturer, freelance curator and writer.

The Council

The Frame Council consists of 13 members representing Frame’s founding organisations as well as a maximum of seven other members.
