Frame awarded grants for galleries’ participation in art fairs

In 2026–2027, Frame supports Finnish art galleries’ participation in international art fairs through project grants. The first of two application rounds was open in June 2026, when funding could be applied for participation in art fairs taking place this year.

A total of 32,000 euros was awarded to four art galleries to cover participation costs of four international art fairs.

Galerie Forsblom:
– Participation in the CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen in August 2026: 6,000 €
– Participation in the Armory Show in New York in September 2026: 10,000 €

Helsinki Contemporary
– Participation in the CHART Art Fair in Copenhagen in August 2026: 6,000 €

Galleria Halmetoja
– Participation in the Foto Tallinn in September 2026: 5,000 €

Persons Projects
– Participation in the Paris Photo in November 2026: 5,000 €

Additionally, in Frame’s mobility grant application round in May, Galerie Anhava was awarded 5,000 € for participating in the CHART art fair in August.

In the evaluation, emphasis was placed on the international significance of the fair, the quality of the gallery’s operations, and the importance of participating in the fair for the gallery’s activities. Applications were evaluated by a jury consisting of Aura Seikkula, an art expert and founder of FUTUARTS Oy, and Pekka Lehtinen, a lawyer, art collector, and fundraising expert. The jury was chaired by Juha Huuskonen, CEO of Frame.

The second application round will be held in late 2026, when grants are awarded for participating in art fairs taking place in 2027.
