Frame is adopting a new name, Frame Contemporary Art Finland, that better reflects the foundation’s role and mission as an advocate for Finnish contemporary art both in Finland and internationally. The new name will not effect on Frame’s work or the genres of contemporary art supported under its grant programme.
Frame Contemporary Art Finland can be abbreviated as either Frame or Frame Finland. In the administrative use, Frame’s official name is Frame Foundation.
“Frame’s earlier name Frame Visual Art Finland was confusing our stakeholder groups both in Finland and abroad. We felt it necessary to define our name so that our domestic and international collaborators recognize us particularly as an operator in the field of contemporary art. We will naturally continue serving all our stakeholder groups just as before, the name change does not have any effect on that”, says Raija Koli, Frame’s Director.
