Spring grant decisions for 2025 published

Frame distributes funds from the Ministry of Culture and Education to promote Finnish contemporary arts internationally.

The decisions based on the March-April 2025 grant rounds are now published on Frame’s website. The grants were awarded for international contemporary art projects featuring Finnish and Finland-based artists in 2025.

A total of 30,000 euros were awarded in grants among 17 applicants in Frame’s March 2025 project grant application round. We received 89 applications altogether with a total applied sum of € 674,087.

A total of 12,925 euros were awarded in grants among 14 applicants in Frame’s March-April 2025 travel grant application round. We received 146 travel grant applications altogether with a total applied sum of € 255,631.

The distributed amount is lower than usual due to the funding cut to Frame grants. This year, the amount allocated by the Ministry of Education and Culture for grants decreased from € 260,000 to € 167,000, or 36%. The applications we received were of very high quality.

Frame’s grants support international exhibitions, publications, participation in art fairs, and art professionals’ international travels. Grant decisions are based on peer review assessments.

Our travel grant call for artists for exhibiting outside Finland is open until Sunday 31 August 2025. A total of 167,000 euros will be awarded in grants in 2025, which is about a third less than last year.

Thank you to all the applicants!
