Sasha Huber’s exhibition Louis Agassiz (1807–2013): Eine Heimsuchung continues the artist’s quest in rewriting the history of colonialism. Huber’s first solo exhibition in Switzerland was created during a summer residency at the Neue Shed art space, in Frauenfeld.
The art work now displayed brings new light to the work of Swiss scientist Louis Agassiz. The exhibition combines Huber’s existing and newly expanding work. It consists of series of photographs and video installations with performative lecture given by Agassiz.
Sasha Huber’s art work questions our common history as it has been written by men of power, such as Agassiz, discoverer Christopher Columbus and former president of Haiti, Papa Doc Duvalier. Huber shapes viewer’s perception of these men and their legacy by presenting them with new images.
