New colleagues at Frame office

This Autumn has brought new colleagues to Frame’s office. We are delighted to welcome Director Juha Huuskonen, Programme Assistant Mathilde Palenius and Communications Assistant Daniel Rasela to the team.

Director Juha Huuskonen started his five-year term on 1 August 2024. Since 2014, Juha has served as the Director of HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme. Prior to this role, he worked as an independent artist, curator, and producer, engaging with various associations and networks within both the Finnish and international art scenes.

How can we best foster international exchange in contemporary art in times of great turmoil and uncertainty? How can we elevate the Finnish visual art scene further amidst massive funding cuts? While there may be no simple answers to these questions, I am thrilled to take on these challenges with Frame. I look forward to connecting with both local and international peers to explore these questions together.” – Juha Huuskonen

As a programme assistant Mathilde Palenius works in Frame’s programme team and takes care of the arrangements concerning the Visitor Programme and other current projects. Mathilde holds a Master’s degree in International cultural management in France. She has been working for the past 4 years with various art associations based in Helsinki on local and international projects as coordinator and producer.

As a communications assistant, Daniel Rasela supports Frame’s daily communications, including social media, website management, and communications related to program activities. Daniel is studying communication at the University of Vaasa, specializing in digital media. Previously, Daniel has worked in communications and PR.
