In THE END, Taanila presents a selection of works in which future fictions and ideas of progress, pushed forward by scientific, technological and economic developments, encourages us to question our relation to each other, our surroundings and the planet.

The multi-channel video installation The Most Electrified Town in Finland (2012) shows the construction of the ill-fated nuclear power plant Olkiluoto 3 in Eurajoki, Finland. In the single-channel video installation The Earth Who Fell to Man (2017) abandoned landscapes, animals, furniture and empty vehicles are left awaiting for disaster, accompanied by three cut-out works based on the novel The Man Who Fell to Earth by Walter Tevis.
