Frame Contemporary Art Finland welcomes you to meet curators Gantuya Badamgarav, Kevin Bellò and Orlando Maaike Gouwenberg. The event takes place at Frame’s office (Töölönkatu 11 A, Helsinki) on Wednesday 21 August between 5–7 pm. The event includes short presentations from all three curators, followed by informal gathering over refreshments. The event is open for all to participate.
Gantuya Badamgarav and Kevin Bellò are currently participating in the HICP (Helsinki International Curatorial Programme) residency at Suomenlinna, organised in collaboration between Frame and HIAP.
In the event, they will talk about their curatorial interests and plans for the residency. Gantuya Badamgarav will introduce activities of the Mongolian Art Support Association, such as XAOS Festival of Experimental Music and Visual Arts and the Red Corner international artist residency. Kevin Bellò’s interests vary from edible knowledge, experimental writing, field research art to inter-species collaborations. Read more about Gantuya and Kevin.
Orlando Maaike Gouwenberg’s visit is organised as part of Frame’s Visitor Programme. Gouwenberg is a curator, initiator and producer based in the Netherlands. She specialises in working with artists to extend their practices into new territory and has often been involved in interdisciplinary projects that bring together contemporary art, film and theatre. In the event, she will discuss her curatorial practices and talk about her new position as Director of Sonsbeek, contemporary art exhibition organised in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
