Grants for art professionals
Frame awards travel grants for Finnish and Finland-based art professionals for work-related travels abroad, and for international art professionals trips to Finland. See application periods and instructions below.
Travel grants for art professionals
- Applications for travel grants for trips taking place in 2025 can be submitted continuously from 1 November 2024 until 31 August 2025.
- Decisions are made four times a year.
- The application deadlines for trips taking place in 2025 are:
- 31 December 2024
- 28 February 2025
- 30 April 2025
- 31 August 2025
- Decisions are announced approximately four weeks after each application deadline. The first decisions at the beginning of the calendar year are usually published by the end of February, depending on the Ministry of Education and Culture’s state subsidy decision.
The purpose of the travel grant is to promote the international mobility and networking of Finnish art experts and to promote the opportunities of Finnish art and artists for international interaction and the exhibition of Finnish art internationally. The purpose of grants awarded by Frame is based on the strategy of the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture and Frame’s own strategy.
Who can apply?
- Finnish and Finland-based art professionals can apply for a personal travel grant for work-related trips abroad.
- Travel grants may not be applied on behalf of another person.
- Organisations cannot apply for this grant.

Travel grants can only be applied for to cover personal
- Travel expenses
- Accommodation expenses
Travel grants cannot be spent on
- Residencies (including travel to and from)
- Per diems or living costs
- Participation fees
- Studies, theses
When to apply?
- Applications for travel grants for trips in 2025 can be submitted continuously from 1 November 2024 until 31 August 2025.
- Decisions are made four times a year.

- 30 April 2025
- 31 August 2025

- The deadline is always the last day of the application period at 11:59 pm Finnish time.
- Applications submitted after the deadline will be processed during the next decision round.

- Curriculum Vitae (1–2 pages) or biography. Attachments should be in PDF or JPG format. The maximum file size is 3 MB.
