Christina Lehnert
Curator of the Göteborg International Biennial of Contemporary Art 2025, Sweden and senior curator at Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Germany
Christina Lehnert is currently the curator for the upcoming edition of the Göteborg International Biennial of Contemporary Art. Since 2022, she has held the position of senior curator at Kunsthalle Baden-Baden. From 2018 to 2022, she curated at Portikus in Frankfurt am Main. Before that, she was the interim director at Kunstverein Braunschweig and received a curatorial fellowship from the Gebert Foundation for Culture in Switzerland. Lehnert has collaborated with various institutions, including the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, where she remains an active member of the international acquisitions committee.
In recent years, she has curated a series of exhibitions exploring art as a response to political moments, with a particular focus on sound and performance. These projects have showcased the works of artists such as Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Jimmy Robert, William Pope.L, Georgia Sagri, Lydia Ourahmane, Willem de Rooij, Alia Farid, Hajra Waheed, Leo Asemota, and Nástio Mosquito, among others.
Lehnert studied philosophy and art history at Humboldt University in Berlin and currently splits her time between Baden-Baden and Berlin.
